Convert WebP to JPG

Websites increasingly serve images as WebP, so a picture you save from a browser often ends up as a .webp file that older apps, printers and upload forms won't accept. Convert it to JPG here in seconds; the image never leaves your device.

Your image is processed by your own browser and never uploaded. Many online editors send your photo to their servers and delete it later — this one never receives it at all.

Why use WebP to JPG

  • Input: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF (first frame), BMP and SVG
  • Output: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or BMP, in any modern browser
  • Choose a background colour for transparent areas in JPG and BMP output
  • Processed locally — no upload, no waiting in a queue
  • Keeps the original pixel dimensions
  • Pro: convert up to 100 images in one batch

Popular uses

  • Turning WebP images saved from the web into JPGs that any app can open
  • Converting screenshots from PNG to smaller JPGs for sharing
  • Saving AVIF files as PNG for editing software that can't read AVIF
  • Preparing WebP versions of site images for faster page loads

WebP to JPG: frequently asked questions

Why do images I save from websites end up as WebP?

WebP files are smaller than JPG and PNG at similar quality, so many sites deliver images as WebP to browsers that support it. When you save the image, you get the WebP file the site sent.

Can I open WebP files without converting them?

Current browsers and recent versions of Windows, macOS and phone galleries open WebP, but plenty of older software, printers and upload forms still don't. Converting to JPG is the most reliable fix.

Does WebP to JPG lose quality?

A little, because JPG is lossy, but at the default quality the difference is hard to see. A transparent background is filled with white; convert to PNG instead if you need to keep the transparency.

What about animated WebP files?

Only the first frame is converted, because a JPG can't hold animation.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser, so nothing is sent to a server.
