Convert PNG to JPG

JPG files are usually much smaller than PNGs and open everywhere, from email to online forms, which makes them the go-to format for photos you share. ImageSpark converts your PNG to JPG right in the browser, fills any transparency with white, and never uploads the image.

Your image is processed by your own browser and never uploaded. Many online editors send your photo to their servers and delete it later — this one never receives it at all.

Why use PNG to JPG

  • Input: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF (first frame), BMP and SVG
  • Output: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or BMP, in any modern browser
  • Choose a background colour for transparent areas in JPG and BMP output
  • Processed locally — no upload, no waiting in a queue
  • Keeps the original pixel dimensions
  • Pro: convert up to 100 images in one batch

Popular uses

  • Turning WebP images saved from the web into JPGs that any app can open
  • Converting screenshots from PNG to smaller JPGs for sharing
  • Saving AVIF files as PNG for editing software that can't read AVIF
  • Preparing WebP versions of site images for faster page loads

PNG to JPG: frequently asked questions

Why is the JPG so much smaller than the PNG?

PNG stores every pixel exactly, while JPG uses lossy compression tuned for photos. For photos and screenshots that contain photos, a JPG is often a fraction of the size with no visible difference. Lower the quality for an even smaller file.

What happens to a transparent background?

JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white, which keeps logos and cut-outs looking clean. To keep the transparency, convert to WebP instead, or keep the PNG.

Will converting PNG to JPG lower the quality?

Slightly, because JPG is lossy, but at the default quality most images look identical. Sharp text and line art can show faint halos in JPG; for those, PNG or WebP is the better choice.

Can I convert several images at once?

Yes, with Pro or Lifetime: add up to 100 images and convert them in one batch. On the free plan you can convert one at a time, 5 times a day, with no account.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The conversion happens in your browser, so your images never leave your device.
