Convert JPG to AVIF
AVIF is the newest widely supported image format: at the same visual quality it is usually much smaller than JPG, so pages load faster and photos take less space. ImageSpark converts your JPGs to AVIF with an encoder that runs in your browser, so it works even where the browser can't save AVIF on its own, and your photos are never uploaded.
Your image is processed by your own browser and never uploaded. Many online editors send your photo to their servers and delete it later — this one never receives it at all.

JPG to AVIF: frequently asked questions
How much smaller is AVIF than JPG?
It depends on the photo, but an AVIF is often around half the size of a JPG of similar quality. Move the quality slider to trade size for detail; the new file size is shown before you download.
Can every app open AVIF files?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari show AVIF, and so do many image viewers and websites. Some older apps and email clients can't, so keep the JPG for places that don't support AVIF yet.
Why does saving AVIF take a few seconds?
AVIF compression is more complex than JPG, and here it runs on your own device instead of a server. Big photos take longer; small ones are done almost instantly.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes, with Pro or Lifetime: add up to 100 images and convert them in one batch. On the free plan you can convert one at a time, 5 times a day, with no account.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The conversion happens in your browser on your device, so your photos never leave it.
