Resize Images to Exact Pixel Dimensions

Set an exact width and height, scale by a percentage, or tap a preset for Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube or Pinterest. Presets crop to fill or fit with borders instead of stretching, and resizing happens on your device, so your photos stay private.

Your image is processed by your own browser and never uploaded. Many online editors send your photo to their servers and delete it later — this one never receives it at all.

Resize Image: frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image without losing quality?

Make images smaller rather than larger whenever you can: downsizing keeps photos sharp, while stretching a small image beyond its original size makes it soft. ImageSpark shrinks images in high-quality steps and keeps the original format. If you must enlarge an image, the Image Upscaler gives a cleaner result.

What size should an Instagram post be?

A square Instagram post is 1080×1080 pixels, a portrait post 1080×1350 and a Story or Reel 1080×1920, and all three are one-click presets. If your photo has a different shape, choose Crop to fill to trim the edges or Fit with borders to keep the whole picture.

How do I keep the aspect ratio when resizing?

Leave Lock aspect ratio checked. When you change the width, the height is recalculated automatically from your image's original proportions, and vice versa, so faces and objects never look squashed. Uncheck it only when you deliberately need both dimensions to be exact, such as a fixed banner size.

Can I resize an image to a specific file size in KB?

Not directly — this tool controls pixel dimensions, not file size. Smaller dimensions do produce smaller files, though, so resizing is often the first step. Then run the image through Compress Image and choose Target file size, such as 100 KB or 50 KB.

What format is the resized image saved in?

The same format you started with, so a JPG stays a JPG and a PNG keeps its transparency. If you need a smaller file for email or an upload form, run the result through Compress Image afterward.

Can I resize multiple images at once?

Yes, on ImageSpark Pro or Lifetime. Drop up to 100 images and either fit each one inside a box or set a width only; every image keeps its own shape. Free users can resize one image at a time, up to 5 operations per day, without creating an account.
