Resize Photos for Instagram
Instagram crops or letterboxes photos that don't match its sizes. Pick Instagram post (1080 × 1080), Instagram portrait (1080 × 1350) or Story / Reel (1080 × 1920), then choose Crop to fill to trim the edges or Fit with borders to keep the whole picture. Nothing is uploaded.
Your image is processed by your own browser and never uploaded. Many online editors send your photo to their servers and delete it later — this one never receives it at all.

Resize Image for Instagram: frequently asked questions
What size should Instagram photos be?
Square posts are 1080 × 1080 pixels, portrait posts 1080 × 1350 (4:5), and Stories and Reels 1080 × 1920 (9:16). Portrait posts take up the most space in the feed.
How do I post a whole photo without it being cropped?
Choose Fit with borders. The photo is scaled to fit inside the Instagram size and the rest is filled with a background colour you pick, so nothing is cut off.
Will resizing make my photo blurry?
Not when you're making it smaller. Photos from phones and cameras are larger than 1080 pixels, so resizing down keeps them sharp. Very small images enlarged to 1080 pixels will look soft.
Can I resize several photos at once?
Yes, with Pro or Lifetime you can resize up to 100 photos at once, each fitted inside the size you set. For a panorama carousel, try Image Splitter.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Resizing happens in your browser, so your photos stay on your device.
