Compress an Image to 50 KB

Online applications for exams, visas and government services often ask for a photo or scanned document under 50 KB, sometimes with a minimum size too. ImageSpark finds the highest quality that fits the target and reduces the dimensions only if it must. Your documents stay on your device.

Your image is processed by your own browser and never uploaded. Many online editors send your photo to their servers and delete it later — this one never receives it at all.

Compress Image to 50 KB: frequently asked questions

How do I get a photo under 50 KB?

Drop the photo in; Target file size is set to 50 KB. Click Compress Image and download the result once the final size is shown. If the form also sets a pixel size, resize the photo to it first.

The form wants between 20 KB and 50 KB — can I do that?

Yes. Choose Custom and enter a target just under the maximum, such as 45 KB, which keeps the file comfortably inside the range. The final size is shown before you download.

Can I compress a scanned certificate or signature?

Yes. Scans of certificates and signatures compress well because they have plain backgrounds. For signatures that must be under 20 KB, use Compress Image to 20 KB.

Will the text on a scanned document stay readable?

Usually, yes, at 50 KB. If the text blurs, crop away empty margins first with Crop Image so the file size is spent on the part that matters.

Are my documents uploaded?

No. The photo is compressed by your browser on your own device, which matters for ID photos and certificates.
