Change a Photo's Background
Swap a cluttered background for clean white, a brand color or a new scene. An AI model in your browser separates the subject from the background, so your photo never has to be uploaded.
Your image is processed by your own browser and never uploaded. Many online editors send your photo to their servers and delete it later — this one never receives it at all.

Change Background: frequently asked questions
How do I make a photo's background white?
Drop the photo in and let the in-browser AI detect the subject, then choose White as the new background and download the result. The subject stays exactly as it was while everything behind it becomes clean white. Check fine details like hair edges before using the image.
Can I use this for passport photos?
It can help produce the plain, light background most passport photos require, but acceptance also depends on lighting, shadows and pose. Some agencies advise against edited photos, so check your country's official rules before submitting a photo whose background has been changed.
What's the difference between changing and removing a background?
Remove Background gives you a transparent PNG cut-out to place into other designs. Change Background goes one step further and fills the space behind the subject with white, a color or an image of your choice, producing a finished photo that's ready to use.
Why is the first run slower?
The AI model has to download to your browser the first time you use it, which can take up to about half a minute on a typical connection. After that it's usually cached, so later photos process much faster. Your photo itself is never part of that download or any upload.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The subject detection and background replacement both happen on your own device, so portraits, product shots and ID photos are never sent to a server. Only the AI model files travel to your browser, and nothing about your photo travels back.
