Blur Faces in a Photo Automatically
Before you post a photo of a crowd, a classroom or a street, you may need to hide the faces of people who didn't agree to be shown. Blur Faces finds the faces for you with a detection model that runs on your device, then blurs, pixelates or covers them in one click. You can remove any box or mark a missed face by hand, and the photo never leaves your browser.
Your image is processed by your own browser and never uploaded. Many online editors send your photo to their servers and delete it later — this one never receives it at all.

Blur Faces: frequently asked questions
How does automatic face blurring work?
A face detection model (MediaPipe BlazeFace) runs in your browser and marks each face it finds. Each mark is an ordinary blur area: remove the ones you don't want, add more by dragging, then apply blur, pixelate or a solid box.
Does it find every face?
It finds most clearly visible faces, including small ones in large group photos, but faces in profile, in shadow or partly hidden can be missed. Always check the photo, and drag across any face it didn't mark before you download.
Is blurring enough to hide someone's identity?
A strong blur or pixelation hides a face for most purposes. When a face must be removed completely, use a solid box, which leaves nothing to recover.
Is my photo uploaded for face detection?
No. The detection model is downloaded to your browser and runs on your device; the photo is never sent anywhere.
